Zeekraal zilt / Toothbrush.

‘Zeekraal zilt’ is a Dutch word, what basically means ‘Glasswort salt’. I bought it when I was in the Netherlands, visiting Rotterdam. My parents once had this and I used it a few times back then. When I saw it in Gimsel, I decided to get it as I think it’s great in salads. You can use this as a substitute for salt. It’s a source of fibre, magnesium, calcium, iron and copper. Apart from that it’s very healthy, I think it’s very delicious too. Like I said, I bought it to use in salads. It gives a subtle salty flavour. I try not to use too much salt, whilst I do find it very tasty. This is perfect to satisfy that salty flavour, without adding too much salt to my diet. I’ve never seen it here in the UK, so if somebody knows a brand or a shop, please leave a comment below.

This toothbrush from Humble Brush I also bought in Gimsel, in Rotterdam. A wooden toothbrush was on my ‘to buy list’ for ages and when I saw this bamboo one with black brush I had to get it. I wanted to have a wooden toothbrush, because every year there are 5 billion plastic toothbrushes produced. That is so much unnecessary plastic, as a toothbrush can easily be made out of wood or like this one, out of bamboo. Humble Brush is designed in Sweden and they only use panda friendly bamboo, it’s BPA free and everything (the package and the brush itself) is 100% recyclable. Like that isn’t enough, for every toothbrush you buy a child in need receives a toothbrush or alternative oral care. Isn’t this a great initiative? For adults they come in 5 different colours and the toothbrushes especially for children come in 4 different colours. Where are you waiting for? Go and buy the most sustainable toothbrush, by going to their website. Easy like that! I think this makes  perfect gift too! ‘Humble Brush was voted as Best Product in 2015 and 2016 by several thousand retailers from all over the world. All products are Vegan Certified by the Vegan Society.’
